Description:
- Develop a rapport with clients and assess their needs and preferences.
- Perform physical examinations, diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a manner that delivers high-quality care while minimizing patient stress.
- Communicate physical examination findings and diagnoses to clients, presenting treatment plans and educating them on preventative healthcare, vaccines, and appropriate nutritional products.
- Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and ensure logs are kept up-to-date, assisting in follow-ups and future patient management.
- Stay current with new medical advancements and changes in veterinary medicine by attending Continuing Education meetings.
- Assist in developing the paraprofessional team to ensure the highest quality care and client service.
- Positively represent the hospital in the community and profession.
- Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
- Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Virginia (or the state the applicant is applying for).
- Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude.
- Strong decision-making and clear communication with fellow team members.
- Compassionate team player committed to maintaining an excellent reputation with clients.
- Proficiency in surgery is a plus.
Requirements:
- Ability to build relationships with clients and pets, ensuring they feel confident in your care.
- Commitment to practicing high standards of veterinary medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
