Description:

  • Develop a rapport with clients to determine their needs and wishes.
  • Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures to provide the highest quality care while minimizing stress and discomfort for patients.
  • Communicate physical examination findings to clients and present a treatment plan, including educating them on preventative care, vaccines, and appropriate nutritional products.
  • Maintain up-to-date client/patient medical/surgical records, assisting in follow-up and future patient management.
  • Stay current with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine by attending Continuing Education meetings.
  • Support the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure high-quality care and exceptional client service.
  • Positively represent the hospital in the community and professional networks.
  • Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in Virginia (or the state the applicant is applying for).
  • Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude.
  • Strong decision-making ability and clear communication with fellow team members.
  • Compassionate team player who can uphold a great reputation with clients.
  • Proficiency in surgery is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Ability to build lasting relationships with clients and their pets, ensuring they feel confident in your care.
  • A commitment to practicing the highest standard of veterinary medicine and adhering to the veterinary code of ethics.
