Responsibilities:
The Veterinarian is responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients while fostering strong relationships with pet owners. This role involves performing physical examinations, surgeries, and dentistry, with an emphasis on client communication and education. Every pet and owner should be treated with compassion and care.

Description:

  • Develop a rapport with clients to understand their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic, medical, surgical, and dental procedures with the highest standard of care while minimizing patient stress.

  • Clearly communicate physical exam findings and diagnoses to pet owners, generate treatment plans, and educate clients on preventative care, vaccinations, and proper nutrition.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols; collaborate with colleagues for ongoing patient management.

  • Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine by participating in Continuing Education (CE) opportunities.

  • Support the professional development of the paraprofessional team to ensure exceptional client service and medical care.

  • Represent the hospital positively within the community and veterinary profession.

  • Treat each client as family and every patient as if they were your own pet.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.

  • Active licensure in good standing to practice veterinary medicine in Texas.

  • Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to make confident decisions and work effectively with fellow team members.

  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of veterinary medicine and ethical practice.

  • Surgical proficiency is a plus.
