Responsibilities:
The Veterinarian is responsible for delivering top-tier medical care to patients while building strong relationships with pet owners. Providing comprehensive physical exams, performing surgeries, and offering dental care are essential aspects of the role. Client education and communication are key, ensuring pet owners understand their pet’s health and treatment options.
Description:
- Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that delivers the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
- Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet’s health concerns; generate and present treatment plans and educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and proper nutrition.
- Maintain accurate client/patient medical and surgical records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and hospital protocols.
- Stay updated with advancements in veterinary medicine and attend Continuing Education meetings.
- Support the development of the veterinary team by mentoring technicians and support staff to enhance service delivery and patient care.
- Represent the hospital positively within the professional community and the public.
- Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
- Licensure in good standing to practice veterinary medicine in Texas.
- Professional appearance, excellent interpersonal skills, and a positive, friendly attitude.
- Strong decision-making abilities and effective communication with fellow team members.
- Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets.
- A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
- Proficiency in surgery is a plus.
