We are a privately-owned small animal general practice providing exceptional veterinary care for cats, dogs, and exotic pets in Fairfax, Cedar Rapids, and Marion, Iowa. Services We Provide:

Our hospitals offer a full range of veterinary services, including wellness and vaccine exams, routine office and sick visits, and various surgical procedures such as spay/neuter, mass removals, exploratory surgeries, and dental procedures. We have in-house laboratory testing, advanced imaging capabilities including ultrasound and digital x-rays, and access to CT scans and echocardiograms at our Marion location. Each facility features multiple exam rooms, a fully equipped surgery suite with complete anesthesia monitoring, and state-of-the-art dental equipment with digital dental x-rays. We continuously invest in new equipment to enhance our service offerings and ensure the best possible care for our patients.

Qualifications:

We are seeking veterinary students interested in gaining hands-on experience in a progressive, supportive practice. This externship is ideal for students focused on small animal care, with the opportunity to work with exotic pets as well. Students who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a collaborative team are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

As an extern, you will:

  • Participate in wellness exams, sick pet visits, and surgeries.
  • Assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions.
  • Learn and perform basic surgical procedures under supervision.
  • Work with advanced imaging tools like ultrasound and digital x-rays.
  • Collaborate with experienced veterinarians and trained support staff to provide high-quality care.
